A valued team member and big character Nathan first started with Cambs Compressors in June 2022, he was an experienced field engineer and was a welcome addition to the growing Cambs Compressors team. Nathan was enthusiastic and full of ideas on how to improve customer services. He adapted brilliantly to the new ERP system and proved a great support to the field-based engineers when facing a challenging problem. His ability to liaise directly with them, quickly review any relevant manufacturers information and help trouble shoot was a highly valued skill. As a result Nathan was often the first point of triage for any customers experiencing issues – so many of our clients will have interacted with him during his years at Cambs Compressors. Nathan passed away on the afternoon of Thursday 14th November, whilst test riding a new motorbike, he was 31. Nathan who lived with his father, leaves everyone of the team here at Cambs Compressors, absolutely devastated. He will be greatly missed by everyone he touched. Compressed air is a vital component in the UK agriculture, growing and packing sector, driving key processes that ensure high-quality production and efficient operations. From automated sorting lines to irrigation systems, compressed air supports a range of functions that help maintain product integrity, hygiene and regulatory compliance. • Packaging and Sorting: Air-powered systems drive automated machinery such as conveyors and bagging machines, ensuring efficient sorting, packaging and sealing of goods like fruits and vegetables. • Irrigation and Spraying: Compressed air operates irrigation and spraying systems, delivering water, pesticides and fertilisers with precision. This ensures optimal crop yields and plant health by providing controlled coverage. • Material Handling: Pneumatic systems move agricultural products gently and efficiently, reducing the risk of damage, especially in delicate goods. • Cleaning and Maintenance: Compressed air systems ensure cleanliness in packing facilities, helping maintain food safety standards by removing dust and debris from equipment and packaging areas. • Automation of Processes: Increasingly, agriculture is adopting automated systems powered by compressed air. From robotic arms in packing facilities to automated growing systems, compressed air enhances operational efficiency with less labour costs. When considering upgrading or installing a new compressed air system, it makes sense to look for suppliers who offer energy-efficient solutions to reduce costs and customised systems tailored to your operations. Regular maintenance services should also be a priority to keep your system running smoothly and comply with relevant regulations.
