Marks accident left the solutions engineers short for client and site visits Cambs Compressors have a strong ethos around keeping business personal and with Mark office bound with a broken ankle, Richard volunteered to fill the gap. With the Covid restrictions lifted, Mark had been on a programme of visiting all the Cambs Compressors clients. His untimely accident put a halt to this. But as Mark says: “Only through face-to-face meetings and site visits, can you really understand the changing needs of compressed air within our clients businesses.” These are fast changing times and only by getting out there can we explore the value we can add. Every business has undertaken dramatic changes over the past 3 years The pandemic has been a driver for change, whether through shutdowns providing an opportunity to re-process map the plant, or overcoming supply chain issues. The result is a lot of our customers have changing needs within their manufacturing compressed air usage. Richard is highly experienced in both troubleshooting and providing visionary compressed air solutions. Richard returning from Thailand Mark’s broken ankle isn’t holding him back! Thank heavens we digitised the systems! A short holiday in April with friends to complete a four day trail-riding holiday in Portugal left Mark with a broken ankle halfway up a mountain trail. The accident happened when Mark, an experienced off- road motorcyclist, hit some unexpected rough loose ground on a tight twist on the trail. After a 4x4 support vehicle managed to reach them. Mark was taken to the local hospital, arriving several hours later, Mark’s dislocated ankle was broken in three places and needed an emergency operation. This resulted in him being bedbound for three weeks in a Portuguese hospital. However, during this period Mark was able to stay informed and in touch thanks to the new digital operations management system. Well on the road to recovery Although the progress is slow, the ankle is getting better and Mark has been able to work from his home office. The new system has made managing the business remotely far easier than the previous production management software. Mark is able to support the team remotely if needed and is managing to catch-up with the quotes from a far. An enduro bike accident off-road whilst on remote trails in Portugal left Mark in a lot of pain and a big problem.
