To celebrate the landmark anniversary of 30 years since Cambs Compressors was formed, Annthea is to swim Coniston Water. Who should we try and raise money for? The 2022 Chillswim Coniston Swim will take place on Saturday 25th June - this will be the 10th year of this incredible swimming event. However, it would be an opportunity missed if the event wasn’t used to raise money for a worthy cause. So we’re asking if you know of a cause we can support with this activity so can suggestions be emailed to [email protected]. We’ll announce the winning cause in our Spring 2022 newsletter. Some criteria to consider We would love to support something which is connected to our customers or the local community. The homeless charities are very close to our heart - we completed in a cold water team event last weekend and helped raise £500 for shelter. By local we mean in the area within which Cambs Compressors operates. We love animals, encourage anything which supports health and activities with the younger generation, but we feel sure there is a worthy cause out there where a few hundred pounds would make a big difference. Hopefully we can raise more - so get in touch, let us know about your cause. 30 years on and we have a global workforce The changes since the business was initially started by me in a back bedroom, supporting a handful of clients and driving a Ford Fiesta are unimaginable. The last two years have been both the most challenging and most rewarding for many reasons. The challenges and uncertainty of the pandemic and being forced to close the offices; get written government approval for our engineers to be classified as essential workers; is up there with the most stressful times I can remember in business. However, the changes we were all forced to make made us reevaluate how things were done, how we lived our lives and what we valued most. “I can’t believe I would have someone in Thailand and the USA working in the business in a ‘day-to-day capacity’ 3 years ago, let alone 30! However, the acceleration of video conferencing as a result of the pandemic has made remote working mainstream. Now we chat with colleagues on a screen as easily as in the office.” Mark Fryer Managing Director and Founder of Cambs Compressors Engineering Limited It’s the people who make Cambs Compressors The one constant over the 30 years is certain, it’s working with great people who make the business enjoyable. Relationships stretching back 30 years with customers and colleagues alike. People make the difference and I can’t see anything changing that. Today Cambs Compressors provide compressed air solutions to a range of customers who operate in Agriculture to Life Sciences and much more. No two days are the same and that’s the way we like it! 2022 - a pearl of a year! It’s amazing to think that Cambs Compressors is 30 years old in May of the coming New Year 2022.
