www.cambscompressors.co.uk Mike Smith Solutions Engineer, Cambs Compressors Cambs Compressors technology transformation roll-out remains on track with the help of proactive customers like father and son Paul and Adam Wright of Wright Engineering. “We’ve found success by exceeding expectations. This means a commitment to on-time delivery, competitive pricing, and providing service levels that are unique in the machining industry.” Adam Wright Owner/Partner Wright Engineering Mark Fryer Managing Director, Cambs Compressors “We want to set the bar high, and knowing the service levels Wright Engineering expect from us made them the perfect candidate. When I approached them I was delighted they agreed to take part and be our guinea pig. They have really helped us refine and optimise what we are going to be able to offer all clients. It means we’ll be working above and beyond the expectations of most clients, and these new processes will help us create intelligent reporting for actionable insights.” Mark Fryer Managing Director, Cambs Compressors Precision engineers have an eye for detail The clue is in the description, ‘precision engineer’ so when we were looking for customers to help with the ‘early adopters’ roll-out, we immediately thought of Wright Engineering. Started by Paul, the company is located in Ely, Cambridgeshire and now largely run by his son Adam. Wright Engineering Ltd is a leading provider of precision machining services, including CNC milling, CNC turning, precision grinding, prototyping, tooling and fixturing. They manufacture a wide variety of machined parts, spare parts and components for a wide range of industries, including motorsport, aerospace and medical. The key benefit of moving to the new system will be speed and transparency of communication. This new system means our engineers have all the information they need at a mouse click when on site, your compressed air system profile and history will be instantly accessible. It will give the management team better access to key business data to help us improve the quality of our decision making. Our aim is to be the best compressed air service provider in the East of England and this is another step towards that goal. Hollow Bar System Compressed Air Design and Installation Why band tour bus company chooses nitrogen for it’s fleets tyres What makes nitrogen more effective than compressed air? Nitrogen gas is non-combustible, non- flammable, non-corrosive in pure form and environmentally friendly. Nitrogen tyre gas does not attack or oxidise the rubber of the tyre from the inside like air does. It is a pure gas, so it does not hold heat and the tyres run cooler. Why does a luxury tour bus need nitrogen filled tyres? Buses are subject to a safety inspection every 10 weeks, or 6 weeks if the bus is over 12 years of age. Dry nitrogen mitigates tyre pressure variations, because it’s the biggest molecule gas, so it is the slowest gas to migrate through a tyre. This means there is very little loss of pressure. The air we breathe is 78 per cent nitrogen and 21 per cent oxygen, so Cambs Compressors filtered out the oxygen from the companies tyre compressor - to provide a whole host of benefits. When Cambs Compressors were asked to provide a compressed air distribution solution which looked great, there was only one brand in the running - the Teseo Hollow Bar System. Thorlabs Ely a Cambs Compressor client for over 30 years Thorlabs Ely is dedicated to designing and manufacturing high-precision motion control systems and specialised vibration isolation products, with onsite sales and technical support staff. Compressed air is used within the manufacturing business, spraying metal treatment works and powering pneumatic equipment. The aesthetics of the compressed air distribution system was a key influencing factor in the choice of pipework. They benefits of the Teseo Hollow Bar System This unique system not only looks great, but has a number of highly functional benefits. The system is mainly composed of an extruded aluminium bar, which presents an external rectangular section with tee slots and an internal bore of large dimension to carry a considerable flow of compressed air. The integrated modular system • Fast installation - The push to fit system does not require welding threading or painting • Modify under pressure – Easy to make changes and add new branch lines without shutting air off • High performance – Clean and smooth inner and outer surfaces to carry a considerable flow of compressed air Regular Air-Filled Tyre Nitrogen-Filled Tyre Oxygen Nitrogen Intelligent reporting on your compressed air system
