Oggie and Sprocket, her two brothers have new homes now and all puppies are doing extremely well. With Mark and Annthea having to play support roles, the summer has been a busy time in the Fryer household. Who would have thought 2020 would be the year of the dog The companionship and joy pets can bring to people’s lives shouldn’t be under-estimated. Who could have foreseen within months of Pastie joining the Cambs Compressor family, the changes ahead. With millions working from home or furloughed from their jobs, pet ownership has experienced an unrivalled increase, especially dogs. The Cambs Compressor’s team have adapted to the changing environment but one thing which hasn’t changed, is the smiles on faces when Pastie’s in the office. Now with a second bundle of joy, Willow is learning fast that her role is to make people happy. Pets remind people to pause and step back Cambs Compressors are joining a long list of successful companies that have adopted Dogs At Work policies, including Amazon, Google and Ben & Jerry’s. It may seem like an indulgence for sentimental pet owners but it turns out that there’s a strong rationale for having a dog friendly workplace. According to research, pets in the workplace reduce stress and nurture productivity. Annthea Fryer Finance and HR Director, Cambs Compressors Pastie (left) and Willow Oggie Introducing Willow... Since her appointment as welfare officer, Pastie the Springer Spaniel has made people happy, healthy and brought a little fun into the office. Cambs Compressors goes electric Taking delivery of the first fully electric vehicle, a Volvo XC40 Recharge. The environmental impact is important to Cambs Compressors For years now, we at Cambs Compressors have battled to make our clients compressed air solutions more energy efficient. This isn’t us banging just the green drum, but the practicalities of reducing waste. Waste energy, whether electric consumption through old, inefficient equipment, or poorly designed systems with air leaks. Working with the Carbon Trust and BCAS, we have consistently promoted greater energy efficiency and lowering the carbon footprint of our industry. Electric vehicles are now a real alternative Looking at what we can do within Cambs Compressors has always been a key focus. With electric vehicles for service engineers, being a key target to strengthen our green credentials. However, albeit a fast changing landscape, electric vehicles and the support infrastructure isn’t quite there yet for the commercial side. So our first venture into the electric vehicle area is a company car - the Volvo XC40 Recharge. With rave reviews on Top Gear and within the sector being reasonably priced, the new electric vehicle will mean lower emissions on client visits, surveys and audits. A great first step to converting all the fleet, when the range on commercials meets the practicality of our field engineers needs. The new electric vehicle has also been a great advantage during the recent fuel shortage in the UK.
