Ethan Day joins Cambs Compressors to continue with the ongoing programme of investing in young people.
Engineering and maintenance apprenticeship
Ethan is studying with Cambs Regional College (CRC) and is local to St Ives. At just 17, he joins Cambs Compressors straight from school. An apprenticeship is a great way to develop your skills and working with Cambs Compressors means every day is different. With clients as diverse as Life Sciences to Agriculture, the range of businesses and installations means no two days are ever the same.
“Ethan came across at his interview as driven, self-motivated and mature. I was delighted to offer him our apprenticeship position and he is already proving a willing prodigy. Ethan follows in Jordan Baker's footsteps, and he joined us as Maintenance & Operations Engineering Technician on the same apprenticeship just over two years ago. It's great to see the age diversity in the business and I have no doubt an apprenticeship is the best way to learn the practical skills required.”

Hire on attitude you can teach the skills
Our policy here is not to worry too much about the academic track record, but what we want to see is the passion and a great attitude. When Ethan first applied for the Level 3 Apprenticeship, like most school leavers he had little idea of what the job really entailed. However, his passion and willingness to learn means Ethan is thriving in his induction to the Cambs Compressors business and in his engineering and maintenance apprenticeship course work.
